Children's Data Policy

1. Applicability

This policy applies to children under the age of 13 who may use the SkillBrew AI platform for:

• Early interview preparation.
• School-led coding challenges or career events.
• Special internships or campus tie-ups (Class 11–12 students).

We are committed to handling such data with extra care, transparency, and compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India)  and other applicable laws.

2. Consent Requirement

Children under 13 must obtain verifiable consent from a parent, guardian, or authorized school administrator before using the platform or submitting any personal information.

We may request:

• Written/email consent from a guardian or school.
• Institution verification if the child is onboarded via school/college.

Access to certain features (e.g., assessments, profiles, resume tools) may be restricted until consent is received.

3. What Data We Collect from Children (if applicable)

If a child accesses the platform with consent, we may collect:

• Name, age, and className/year.
• Parent or guardian contact information.
• Assessment scores and submitted answers.
• Feedback or mentor comments.
• Device/browser info for technical support.

We do not collect sensitive personal identifiers like Aadhaar, payment data (from the child), or biometric info.

4. How the Data Is Used

Data from underage users is used only to:

• Deliver learning or assessment services.
• Share feedback (with guardian/teacher consent).
• Track progress over time.
• Improve product experience and AI accuracy.

We do not use children's data for marketing, advertising, or behavioral tracking.

5. Data Sharing

• Children's data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.
• Shared only with verified schools, colleges, or guardians for educational purposes.
• Protected using encryption, role-based access, and strict policy enforcement.

6. Retention and Deletion

Children's data is retained only as long as needed for educational or onboarding purposes.

Parents or guardians may:

• Request deletion of a child's data at any time.
• Withdraw consent for further usage.

7. Rights of Children and Guardians

Guardians have the right to:

• Access the child's data.
• Request correction or update.
• Withdraw consent or deactivate the account.
• Lodge a complaint through our Grievance Officer.

8. Safeguards

We take additional precautions for users under 13:

• Limit communication features (e.g., messaging).
• No exposure to public or peer-based ranking.
• Parental visibility over performance reports.
